Harvest Party How-To with the Fashionable Hostess
Fall time entertaining is my favorite time of year. The cool crisp air, the mini pumpkins, and the addition of cinnamon to nearly every dish! Today I wanted to share a glimpse of what’s brewing at my bar this fall, starting with décor which includes a few of my favorite pieces from Pottery Barn’s Fall Collection, followed by a cocktail recipe with a fall essential: apple cider!
When it comes to stress-free party planning, there are a few go-to party tools that come in handy again and again (and again…), and always get the attention of my guests: a classic Antique Silver Bottle Wine Chiller, an assortment of fabulous Flameless Flickering Birch Wax Candles, and the ever-versatile Hammered Nickel Snack Bowl. I’m filling this snack trio with some of my favorite fall bar snacks, like honey roasted peanuts and dried cranberries, but its versatility has no limits! Host an ice cream bar and fill it with chocolate chips and berries, throw a Sunday morning brunch party and set up an oatmeal station (brown sugar, raisins and coconut, anyone?), or just toss some chips, pretzels, and popcorn in the bowl for a casual night on the sofa. Whether entertaining for two or for ten, the Hammered Nickel Snack Bowl is a welcomed addition to any gathering!
Inspired by a recipe from Self Proclaimed Foodie
Ingredients
- 1 piece of fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons simple syrup
- 1 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey
- 1 1/2 ounces apple cider
- 1 1/2 ounces chilled ginger beer
- Apple slice for garnish
- Ice
Instructions
1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the ginger with the simple syrup. Add bourbon and cider.
2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
3. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass and top with ginger beer.
4. Garnish with an apple wedge, serve, and enjoy!
